July: Marlene Gremillion

Multi-media artist, Marlene Gremillion, past resident of West Monroe, who now lives in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, will be featured during the month of July at Ouachita River Art Gallery. Marlene will be displaying her watercolor florals. In this show she has been painting flowers up close and personal, with pieces being most visible from a distance.

Marlene is an accomplished artist who has been painting in watercolor for over 25 years. She displays her works here and throughout the state of Arkansas. She is a signature member of Mid-Southern Watercolorists and Louisiana Watercolor Society, Vice President of Brush Strokes in Hot Springs Village, AR and Charter Member of Ouachita River Art Gallery in Louisiana. Marlene enjoys sharing her knowledge by teaching at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, at the National Park Community College Continuing Education (Hot Springs, AR) and a number of workshops throughout Arkansas. Marlene says, “Teaching is so enjoyable, especially watching others get excited when creating a piece of artwork.”

Along with her paintings, Marlene has designed jewelry using Argentium Sterling Silver, and 14 Karat Gold wire with semi precious stones. She also enjoys twisting these wires into necklaces, bracelets and anklets. She will include in the display some of her fused glass jewelry pieces and some copper works.
